Chicago is a wonderful tapestry of eclectic neighborhoods overflowing with culture, but it might not be the first place that comes to mind when you think about waterfowling destinations.

In fact, the Chicago area’s expansive footprint, interspersed with county forest preserves and public waters, supports abundant waterfowl populations. In addition, throughout this metropolitan landscape, there exists a premier level of culinary expertise that lends itself to innovative duck and goose dishes.

Chicago has always been a captivating tourist destination, and in my experience the Second City should be high on every wandering waterfowler’s list—even those who enjoy traveling with a retriever.
